If you want to print on your HID prox cards using an ID card printer, make sure the cards you purchase are ISOProx cards – these are made from special printable materials. Not all cards are printable, so look for cards that clearly communicate this feature.

HID Prox Cards with Printing Options
Most HID prox cards will have printable versions available, including:
- PVC prox cards
- Composite prox cards
- HID DuoProx cards
Some proximity cards are not printable, however – including clamshell cards. Due to their thicker size they cannot fit through an ID card printer.
You can also order your HID ISOProx cards pre-printed from the manufacturer.
