If you want to print on your proximity cards using an ID card printer, make sure the cards you purchase are made from printable materials. Not all cards are printable, so look for cards that clearly communicate this feature.

Prox Cards with Printing Options
Most prox cards will have printable versions available, including:
- PVC prox cards
- Composite prox cards
- Magnetic stripe prox cards
Some proximity cards are not printable, however – including clamshell cards. Due to their thicker size they cannot fit through an ID card printer.
You can also order your cards pre-printed from the manufacturer.
